BMW E24 635Csi Warsteiner DTM Zolder 1984 VonBayern

         

The Warsteiner 635 that Prinz Leopold Von Bayern raced in 1984 in the DTM, including two races at Zolder. I love that gold & white livery! The gold stripes on the sides are airbrushed. All the rest are decals of my own design. The donor model is a Jägermeister 635 that already had the perfect windows (“Team Brun”, Puma, Recaro), the right tires and the perfect wheels.

And sure enough, a couple of years after I finished this custom build the model became commercially available. “CMR” produces a model in medium build quality (and some livery inaccuracies) but with horrible wheels. If for no other reason I’m glad I have my custom build! The middle reference photo might not be taken at Zolder but the others are.
